His journey to study: At the age of 7 Imam Ash-Syafii finished memorizing the Quran and at the age of 10 he memorized Al-Muwaththa by Imam Malik, aged 15 with the permission of his teacher named Muslimbin Khalid Az-Zanji to give a fatwa.
He also memorized a lot of Hudzails poems.
After that he went to Medina to study jurisprudence from Imam Malik bin Anas until Imam Malik died in 179 H, after which he studied from Sufyan bin Uyainah.From the proceeds of mortgaging his house for 16 dinars, Imam Syafii went to Yemen.
